Meet Harry Field

Harry Field Willoughby Court Magistrate

Making informed decisions in a judicial race may be difficult if you do not have the right information. I wish to provide you with information about me to help you with this important decision.

I am running for Judge of the Willoughby Municipal Court.

I have always been a part of the Willoughby Municipal Court community. My family moved to Willoughby Hills in 1863, where I was born and raised. I attended Garfield Elementary School and later graduated from Willoughby South High School. I attended The Ohio State University where I received a B.A. degree in Economics, and later I attended Case Western Reserve University College of Law. Upon graduation from law school I moved to Willoughby, where I have resided ever since. I raised my family in Willoughby and educated my son here in the Willoughby-Eastlake School System. I am the proud father of Michael Field who is married to Melissa, and we are the proud parents and grandparent of Noah - a wonderful addition to our family.

I began my general law practice in Lake County, where, during the course of over 30 years, I represented clients in practically every aspect of law including real estate, estate planning, probate administration, corporate formation and dissolution, bankruptcy, personal injury, criminal law, prosecution and defense of collection cases and many others.

This broad experience in my private law practice makes me particularly well suited to decide cases in the Willoughby Municipal Court, where the legal issues I handled in my private practice come before the Court in its daily docket. This experience helps me apply the law as lawmakers intended and helps me understand the personal concerns of those who find themselves before the Court.

Harry Field and Family

I am the full time Magistrate of our Court. As Magistrate, I practice and apply the same skills a judge needs and I have done so for the past 8 years. I am also the regularly appointed Acting Judge in the absence of the elected Judge who is Larry Allen. The first time I served as Acting Judge was 1983. I have gained extensive experience in the role of Acting Judge since my initial appointment. I am the only candidate for judge who has actual experience presiding over cases before the Willoughby Municipal Court. Consequently, I am the only candidate who can run on my record of service, not only as a lawyer, but in the capacity of the position I seek in the November 8th General Election.

I enjoy the law and my work at the Willoughby Municipal Court, where I am part of a talented team of public servants who are as committed as I am to responding positively to the needs of the Court community. As a leader of this team, I have been directly involved in the complex implementation of increasing legislative mandates and the daily management of one of Ohio's busiest single judge courts.

When casting your vote, I ask that you consider my extensive Willoughby Municipal Court experience, which no other candidate in the race has, and my unwavering commitment to our community, which I believe make me "Best in the Field." I ask for your vote on November 8, 2011 for Judge of the Willoughby Municipal Court.

Sincerely,

Harry Field
